Naturally, dogs are loyal animal which follows you wherever you go to love you with everything they have. However, this animal misbehaves in certain times and if they lack the proper training they will not listen to you. That is why when they are still on the growing up phase it is necessary for them to undergo proper training if you hope on capturing good Saluki pictures.



The Saluki is one of the most ancient breed of canine that existed during the Persian and ancient Egypt times. They are classified in the group of hound and primarily known as sight and hunting hounds. They look very muck alike to a greyhound but the differences are easily noticed on the feathering present on their ears, tails and behind their legs. They have diverse colors and look feeble but they are greatly known as legendary hunters.



The name Saluki came from an ancient Arabic city with the same name. This dog is regarded as a sacred gift from Allah by the Muslims. One few animals in ancient Egypt who has religious implications and can sometimes be seen mummified with the pharaohs. The primary role these hounds in ancient times are to hunt gazelles, antelopes, fox and some hare.



Salukis are known for their graceful appearance that depicts agility and speed. When they reach their top speed, the hound looks like they are floating in the air. They are built to be hunters who have an amazing endurance with an active instinct to hunt. Rugged terrain and distance are not an issue to them.



They are known to be gentle and affectionate but may act aloof sometimes. They are naturally quiet and usually only howl with high pitched tone when they feel that something is wrong or they are want attention. They sometimes become attached to just one person in your family.



They usually get along with the children and known to be gentle in tolerating them. If they need quiet and peace time, they usually find a spot to settle down. They are also tolerable with the other dogs very well. Usually, when they are outside they are bursting with energy but when indoor they become very timid.



Notably, the tough part of training these canines usually involves in making Salukis ignore the animal instinct that they naturally have. These impulses that they have has existed for thousands of years so it might take awhile to make them be completely obedient to you. Since they are sight hounds, it is best to make them undergo some visual training methods and mixed with some verbal commands. This breed is known to be very sensitive so remember not to be harsh during training. The reward system is a better way to make them listen rather than shouting.



Finally, this breed is known to be intelligent and also prone easily to get bored with repetitions in training. It will help them to make it frequent and short. Regular exercise is essential for them to avoid restlessness that results to destructive behavior when indoor.



If you decided to own a dog be sure you are ready for the responsibility. Salukis are the type who needs regular exercise and can take a huge chunk of your time. Possessing one will be a very rewarding experience they exhibit one of the most beautiful Saluki pictures.
