Gaming Clichs Which Could Come Into Adventure Race Training

Having played a number of games in my time, I can tell you that I have seen a great deal of repetition in terms of certain conventions. It seems like these pop up time and time again, some of them far more accepted than others. For those which aren’t nearly as accepted, I’m sure that those who have been gaming passionately can probably point out the ones I’d like to talk about. If a game about adventure race training was made, such clichs would have to be avoided.
One such convention that has found itself repeated time and time again is quick time events. Basically, these require you to press a certain button at the right time, or else you either lose health or even a life. While I can understand them being used once in a while, it seems like various games constantly shove them in your face with no rhyme or reason. I felt like “Resident Evil 4” was a good example of this done right. However, not every game can hold such a candle.
While aesthetics are more about preference than anything else, I can’t help but notice that color does not seem to be at a high level these days. In fact, it seems like muddy appearances have become the norm these days, which is a problem to say the least. I want to be able to explore a girl that captures my imagination but this cannot be done if hues are not up to par with what I have come to expect. Sometimes it is okay for games to have more striking visuals.
Could you imagine what would happen if these features were in a game involving adventure race training? I think that it would be a safe bet that you would mash buttons; you probably will not utilize any sense of skill which can actually come into play. You have to be able to assess the situation in front of you and make the most of every motion, not simply slam upon a button one time after another in order to succeed. You have to possess true skill, which is a feature that is brimming in events such as Spartan Race.
Adventure race training may not be the first subject most would consider when it comes to game creation but I think that it is worth noting nonetheless. After all, it’s the type of competition which is intense and I don’t think that anyone would be able to disagree with such a notion. Could you imagine if these conventions were set in place, though? I would like to think that skill should be the most important aspect and that it will be the factor when deciding victors.
